Matilija Poppy

I was able to get a first hand look at the beautiful Matilija poppy on my last trip to California. There is no improving Mother Nature but this is my view. This painting just sold to a very dear friend but I am sure that I will paint more. Watercolor on paper 14 x 23.

Purple Iris

This was a huge undertaking for me with large areas of paper to fill with watercolor. I haven't painted very long in watercolors and such a large area felt so foreign to my usual oil painting work. Even though it was a challenge......I am pleased with the overall effect.
